For the 2nd year in a row, Simply Mochi is donating to this worthy cause, Caring for Chris. A golf tournament fundraiser has been set up for the 3rd year in a row to support a local family who is battling Moyamoya Disease, a disease affecting blood flow to the brain. The fundraiser will be held on August 27, 2011.

Simply Mochi was streetside in front of Bi-rite Market on Sunday, July 24th! With the weather on our side and a bunch of mochi in hand, we were able to educate many on what a fresh mochi is and how it compares to the infamous mochi ice cream. With many samples and much discussion, I believe that we were successful in letting others know of the difference and how a mochi is made. We had a ton of fun and met many great people. The folks at Bi-rite were awesome as they made this happen for me. I am looking forward to being out there again in the near future!
Go and check out the mochi at Bi-rite market (www.biritemarket.com) in the frozen section. All you need to do is thaw it out for a few hours and it is ready to enjoy. If you don’t have the patience to do that, you can always order online and we deliver right to you.
Simply Mochi gets mentioned by Sf Culinary Travel Examiner, Mara Rogers (www.MaraReidRogersCooks.com)!
This time our strawberry cheesecake mochi gets the spotlight!

I can’t believe it! I am super excited to announce that my mochi will be at BI-RITE market (www.biritemarket.com) in San Francisco.
My little bites of happiness have made it there! In case you don’t know what Bi Rite is, they are one of the best markets that “create community through food.” If you have never been to Bi-rite, you need to get over there and check out all the local artisan foods that you have been missing out on! Don’t just trust what I say. Go on out there and check them out!
When you happen to be at Birite and come across my mochi in the freezer section, don’t be alarmed! For those that have had my mochi freshly made and delivered or picked up, this will just be another way for you to enjoy them at your leisure. I have found a way to keep it just as fresh as if it just rolled out of the steamer, onto my bare hands, and into a box made just for you! I have chosen a packaging that will keep the mochi at maximum freshness for you to enjoy when you are ready to enjoy them. All you have to do is take it out of the freezer and thaw out for about 4-5 hours and eat away! Now you can have it in your home or even at your work waiting just for you.
Starting on June 7th, the packages will have strawberry cheesecake, lemon curd, and red bean paste. We will also be carrying chocolate walnut, PB chocolate, and strawberry cheesecake in another package later. And as a bonus for everyone that purchases a package from Bi-Rite, there will be a voucher for free delivery when you order a box of mochi from www.simplymochi.com. All you need to do is give me the packaging( box from Bi-Rite) when we deliver the mochi to you!
Please help to spread the word to your family and friends so that I can continue to make these special treats for all of you! It is awesome to be a part of Birite and I am very happy to have all of your continuing support. Your support means the world to me and makes me feel very loved and special!
